Lead & Follow gay/queer-friendly dance classes bring all corners of the rainbow community together. Whatever your background, learn to dance in our friendly and fun dance classes. Bring a friend or come by yourself to get fit, meet new people and learn to dance!

We have a selection of fabulous teachers from within the rainbow community to teach a variety of dance styles including:

• Latin American: Salsa, Cha Cha, Samba, Rumba, Paso Doble, Jive, RocknRoll, Bachata, Merengue, Zouk, Mambo

• Ballroom: Waltz, Tango, Foxtrot, Quickstep

• Vogue, Heels Class, Jazz.

Our Dance Classes

Partner Dance Class with Mathew Nicholson @refreshinglyginger

Sundays - Newtown Neighbourhood Centre

Our group partner dancing classes introduces one dance style every 2 weeks. Dance styles include Mambo, Salsa, Merengue, Jive, Cha Cha, Tango, Paso Doble, Bachata, Samba, Waltz, Swing and more.

It’s a fun and friendly class, bring your two left feet and we’ll find your right foot. You can choose to be a leader or follower and often the roles are swapped within the routine.

Mathew is a multiple National & International Latin American Champion, dancing since the age of 5, he loves helping people connect with their own bodies and others through dancing.

Online Dance Classes with Josh O’Grady @joshuaogrady_

We are not letting COVID-19 stop us from enjoying the benefits of dance. Learn some fun, gay, fabulous, stress releasing dance routines with one of the best in the industry. Josh O’Grady is an international competitor in Latin American dancing, Brent Street graduate and delivers a much needed break from global pandemic life. You will finish the class refreshed and ready to dance your way through any obstacle that appears.

Kitten Heels Class with Ned Barnfield @lavenderstreak

One-off classes are announced on our Facebook and Instagram

Our heels class teaches you how to move, turn, dance and slay in high heels. Ned is a known performer amongst the performing arts community. With a Bachelor of Music, weekly drag performances on Sunday’s at The Imperial Hotel, Erskineville and serves the best tea around town. You will walk away with thigh slapping moves that will certainly catch an eye when you’re next out in town.

Heels recommended for beginners:

• 1-3 inch heels

• Chunky heel over stiletto

• Closed toe over open toe

• Add two sizes to your men’s shoe size

• We recommend house of priscilla or any shoe store
