Since 2011 I have taught the dance style of Latin American dancing to people of all ages. I have competed since I was 5 years old and have been privileged to have been multiple times New Zealand champion and Australian runner up. Dancing has taken me to all places around the world including China, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, Los Angeles, New York, London, Paris, all states of Australia and all throughout New Zealand.

On a daily basis I have to deal with people from all backgrounds from the 5 year old girl who lacks concentration, to the parents eager to see their children succeed, to the teenager who is finding confidence through dance and an elderly lady finally getting the chance to do what she loves in life. The dance industry has taught me how to navigate difficult interpersonal situations through conflict resolution, sacrifices and negotiations, support and motivation, sharing knowledge and guidance, inspiring and disciplining.

Since 2014 after a hit to my health from glandular fever I decided to become a full time dance teacher and help start a new dance studio called Royal Dance in Sussex Street. I have learnt many lessons from running my own business and having responsibility for not only your own income but those teachers that rely on the work around you. Managing the physical space and managing a steady flow of new and existing students is similar to the art of juggling. It is a beautiful and unique industry that I am passionate to help grow and share with others in the world.
